Historically, the mission of the
Archivist is to ensure that records,
historical documents and artifacts are protected and preserved for
future generations. The role of the Researcher is to re-interpret and
trace patterns within given parameters. These perspectives are adopted
in this work, presenting a range of ideas that support our
investigations in Source Energies.
As Archivists and Researchers, we aim to
observe and document the nature and
properties of Source Energies. The Archives
represent
a long lineage of thought, and are divided into three main series
including Source Energy Investigations, Bushwick
(Boswyck) Family Collection, and the Cuthbert & Solzberg Collections. Materials include correspondence,
photographs,
artifacts, replicas, moving image, audio and hand-sewn tapestries.
Highlights of the collection include early attempts to document Source
Energies, including the Traveling
Variety Show and Bushwick (Boswyck) family lineage. Among the earliest
objects of the collection are linen sacks used to transport herbs and
teas, phtographs
of early Source Energy Practitioners, and a 1918
home canning recipe booklet. Other significant items include
canning
utensils used by Josephine Bushwick, a telescope possibly used by a
prominent astronomer as a young boy, and artifacts from the Bushwick
(Boswyck) lineage.
